The next day we took a free tour of the city that lasted 5 hours. It was real long and we learned a lot about the history of prague that i was unaware of. We called it an early night and got ready for the train to Munich.

Prague
I arrived in Prague via Train and took the metro to my hostel. I seriously spent more time on escalators in the metro stations then on the actual metro. Anyways... we checked into the hostel and got some local cuisine. I opted for the beef goulash which was amazing. Afterwards we went to the beer museum where I had some of the best beer I have ever had for a dollar. It was really cool but we decided to leave after three drinks to check out some other bars as well. Mick and I walked around the area going into every bar. We tried absinth at one of the bars. We went into a liquor store to see how much a bottle was and we got distracted by the things that are in the bottles of absinth. Some had weed seeds, beetles, and other weird things.

Berlin
Berlin is obviously a city of rich history and i tried to take advantage of it for the 48ish hours i was there. My hostel was in East Berlin near the famous TV tower. It kind of felt like we were in the hood of Berlin by the amount of graffiti and old buildings in the area, but i guess that is just how the east is. Alice and I drank some hefe-wesissens every night. They are just so good and only 3 Euro. It made me so happy. The first day we did a free tour of Berlin and saw a lot of the city.

Stockholm
7/8
After a good night sleep, we walked down to the canal and got a canal tour. We stopped at various significant parts of the city and hopped on and off the boat. We did this for most the day and were exhausted afterwords. I read my book in the hostel, went to dinner, and called it a night.

We woke up a little earlier and went souvenir shopping down the main pedestrian street. We saw the parliament building and I bought a Swedish shirt with three crowns on it, it is the same as the Sweden's hockey jersey. We made some swedish meatballs for lunch in the hostel's kitchen for a late lunch. I ended up reading my book for awhile in the sun and repacked my stuff as we got ready for Berlin.

Train ride to Stockholm

It was a sad morning as Alice and I prepared to leave for Stockholm. I made eggs and she made us some PB and Js. We walked to central station and registered our Eurail passes. We spent 5 hours on the train sleeping, watching project X and looking at the country of Sweden. We were exhausted when we arrived to our hostel which was super nice. It has a nice courtyard and it is simple and decorated with some nice antiques. I had some good Carbonara for dinner and called it a night.

It was the last day of class today, Mick and I did a good job representing the Brazilians. I invited people in my class to come to my place after class to hang out because we had an hour to chill before we went on a class lunch. Most of my classmates live 30 minutes away by bus. We went to Hache for lunch where I got a Burger that was delicious. It was sad to know this was the last time I would see some of these people as we have spent 2 weeks together in class everyday and a trip to Norway together. I went home, finished my packing, finished my essay,Robin made us a family dinner, and we bought beer. My housemates upstairs were coming back from their study tour in Finland and we were getting ready for a house party. I also invited my entire class to come as well as we celebrated the end of school. We had a fun night going to different bars around Copenhagen.

Schoolwork

I prepared pretty well for a presentation this morning that was the most informal and relaxed presentation I have ever been apart of. Class was real long as we had to sit through each students presentation and listen to my teacher's critiques. I walked around Stroget or "the stroll" for awhile taking in the last few hours I had in the city. I went back to the DIS campus to finish my essay and was able to talk to my teacher about possible job opportunities in the US. Afterwords I prepared for my presentation tomorrow. Mick and I are supposed to represent the Brazilian Government during the Rio +20 conference that took place in June. We worked on it till 7 and got dinner in Christiania. I called it an early night.

Ernst and Young

This was my second time being out of the country during Independence Day. I was once again not surprised by the amount of people abroad who are from America. American spirit was high in Copenhagen. In class today, a cleantech investor talked to us about how his company chooses what companies to invest in. We went through 7 cases in which he broke down each company and explained the pros and cons with investing in each company. Nils, my teacher, works as a consultant at Ernst and Young in the Climate Change and Sustainable Services department and took kids in my class to visit his office. The office building was beautiful as he treated us to a buffet on the campus. We met various people in the company and learned much more about what Nils does. The trip took much longer than expected and we got home at 5:30. I rushed to finish my presentation and paper to be able to get a nice dinner with Alice and Mick. We went to a apartment party down the street and ended the night at a Kareoke bar. I am starting to get sick of bars that allow people to smoke cigarettes in them.
